Batam-prismatimes.com- PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya, a company engaged in piling work, is currently facing a billion-rupiah payment dispute with PT. China Construction Yangtze River Indonesia (PT. CCYRI). PT. CCYRI is the main contractor for the Dayone Data Center construction project, a major player in the data center industry in Southeast Asia.
According to an official statement from PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya, the company has completed three piling work contracts, including foundation piling, concrete sheet piles, and steel sheet piles, all of which were carried out for the Dayone project under PT. CCYRI's supervision. The total value of these three contracts reached IDR 15.07 billion.
The main issue arises regarding the payment of a 10 percent retention of the total contract value, which should have been IDR 1.49 billion. This retention, which serves as a guarantee of work quality, expired in August 2025, but PT. CCYRI has yet to pay.
Furthermore, PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya also claims additional work and compensation promised by PT. CCYRI in signed meeting minutes. The value of this additional work and compensation is estimated at IDR 1.9 billion, but payment has also not been made.
PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya has attempted various mediation efforts and legal notices to resolve this issue amicably. However, the company complains of a lack of good faith from PT. CCYRI. PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya even suspects an attempt to coerce PT. CCYRI's attorney into signing a statement. The offer stipulated that PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya would only receive IDR 180 million for the additional work, with the consequence of being unable to collect the remaining IDR 3.2 billion due.
PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya also highlighted repeated denials of payment by PT. CCYRI. Despite an agreement in the minutes of the meeting regarding retention payments, which were conditioned on the completion of additional work, such as piling the bridge foundations, these payments have not been made even though the additional work is 100 percent complete.
Furthermore, PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya feels aggrieved by a statement in the media alleging that they have incurred losses of IDR 7.4 billion. This figure, according to PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya, emerged suddenly during their billing process, without any prior communication, without an independent audit, and without any technical calculations provided to them.
Furthermore, PT. CCYRI also issued a statement stating that the retaining wall work was only 62 percent complete, despite PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya claiming to have completed the work 100 percent and that all of their work has been used by PT. CCYRI.
In response to the worsening situation and the lack of a solution, PT. Jamrud Andalas Jaya stated that it would take further legal action, having previously sent a warning letter to PT. CCYRI's lawyer. The company hopes the legal process will deliver justice and ensure their rights are fulfilled.
As of this writing, there has been no official response from PT. China Construction Yangtze River Indonesia (PT. CCYRI) regarding these allegations and dispute.
